Welcome to 2016 and our new series 52 Weeks of Handwork. Handwork is really very close to my heart. I invite you to join me. Whether you want to further your skills or if you are already accomplished in handwork and just want to join me… come on! Let’s get busy. You don’t have to do the same projects but either way I would love to see what you are working on!
Week 1’s project Gator & Fingerless Mitts, approx. time 5 hours
I got two skeins of lovely Noro yarn in two different weights in a bulk yarn purcase from a friend last year, I loved the yarn but there just wasn’t enough for a big project so I decided to make smaller pieces instead.
The gator is crocheted using bulky Noro yarn and a large crochet hook. I measured the height based on my own neck and just worked until I had enough to go around my neck with just enough give so it would fit over my head.
The fingerless gloves are done by crocheting two squares. Fold in half and stitch up the side leaving room for the thumb.
What are you working on this week?
