113. Prevention is Better Then Clean Up

Season #1

Why is prevention better than clean up?
What does that even mean?
Prevention is better than clean up means take the moment to pause and give your spouse attention.

There's a lot of distractions when it comes to parenting.
We have to remember to partner in the distractions or else we get to the point we have a lot of clean up to do.

Another example Melisa and Erik Nielsen share is when you let habits form with technology the child quickly gets use to it and expects it.

A helpful alternative the Nielsen house uses is Sparkle Stories.

For years Melisa has always had an "exit plan" when she is at a birthday party or even just the grocery store. What is your exit plan if the kids are in need of one.

And most importantly know your child and pay attention.
Are they in need of food?
Always have your go to snacks on hand.

How will they react to the food at the birthday party? Will they be overstimulated?

When was the last time they used the restroom?

Do the prevention work and you won't be left exhausted cleaning up.
